Mandatory practice begins Thursday, Aug. 1, Coach Perez tells players and parents

Dear Parents and Players,

Just a few friendly reminders and some new information. As some of you know by now the coaching staff has been using their 10 days of training the last two weeks, which leads up to the start of official practice. The official start of practice is this Thursday August 1, 2013.

This date is set by the Ohio High School Athletic Association. This is the period when we as coaches can make practice mandatory. So with that being said that leads me to my second point.

2. With practice stating the following is needed by each player. They need to have shin pads, cleats, and tennis shoes or indoor shoes. if the weather is such that we can not practice outside we will go to the gym. So there is practice everyday.

3. Also the boys need their physical's and their emergency medical forms in to me ASAP. These are a must. They will not be able to participate in the scrimmages or even ride a bus should we take one. As for the Cleveland Heights game we are meeting there and they will be picked up there by you.

4. We have our socks in early. They are $6.00 a pair. For all freshman and new comers you must purchase one pair each. As for returning players I will have some extra so if you need some please let me know. You must have them to play. OHSAA rules.

Don't forget the mandatory OHSAA parent player meeting held by the school is August 14th at 7:00 P.M. we will still have practice that day.

Finally for those parents who will be working the concession stand for the Browns game thank you in advance. All I ask it that you make sure you sign in an make sure to put your sport. I have many players that play more than one sport. While I understand that you want to help out all I ask that you please give soccer a equal number of days. I will be working 3 days.

I hope to see all of you very soon.
